What I practice is transformative life coaching based on Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coaching model, where the client already has all the information that they need inside themselves to build a life full of purpose and joy—the coach merely helps them access that inner knowledge and to gently identify and dissolve the barriers—mainly in the form of limiting beliefs—that keep them from realizing that life.

How It Works (the boring details)…

First, we’ll meet for a Discovery Call so we can get to know one another and assess your current needs. This way, you won’t have to feel obligated to commit to anything until you truly feel ready to do so, and can move forward with all the information you need to begin the coaching relationship with confidence.

Depending on the issues you would like to explore, I may recommend a series of three to five sessions (you are, of course, welcome to choose the number of sessions you want, regardless of my suggestions). The reason for this minimum commitment is that the kind of deep internal work that coaching often requires is often difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish in a single session.

Once we’ve agreed to work together and how many sessions you would like, I will send you an intake form and an invoice with billing and scheduling information. You may use the payment and scheduling links on the website to set up your sessions (I currently accept PayPal, Apple Pay, and credit cards—I hope to add Stripe and Venmo soon).

In addition to our scheduled meeting times, I am available for accountability, follow-up, and general questions/issues during business hours (10am-6pm PT weekdays).

Please understand that I cannot begin our work together until I have received and acknowledged full payment.

FAQ

  • From the International Coaching Federation website: “Coaching is a transformative journey where you discover your true potential. …This partnership empowers you to unlock answers you already have within, while also challenging you to go further than you imagined. At its heart, coaching is about exploration. It’s a process that stirs up creativity, fuels personal growth, and maximizes both professional and personal potential. Through powerful questioning and insightful dialogue, coaches support you in discovering your own solutions, whether for life decisions, career shifts, or business challenges. Coaching goes beyond surface-level improvements; it cultivates deep, lasting change.“

The way I often describe it is that having a life coach is like having a pit crew for the rat race—we keep you running at optimum efficiency and speed, to help you avoid a blowout or breakdown!

  • Straining the analogy to its breaking point, if a coach is your pit crew, a therapist is more like a mechanic—they have the tools and the training to truly help you fix what’s not working. The disciplines are complementary, but slightly different.

If it comes up in our work that you may need help that I am not qualified to give you, we can discuss whether therapy may be better suited to your needs.

  • Put quite simply, coaching can help anyone move forward who is feeling ‘stuck’ in any area of their life.

  • A Discovery Call is a free consultation (lasting about half an hour or so) where we get to know one another to see whether we would work well together, and it’s also where you can ask any questions you may have about coaching. There’s no obligation, so feel free to book a call with me anytime!

  • My fee is $150 per session, paid in advance. I offer a 10% discount for people who purchase ten or more sessions at a time.

  • Reach out to me via email (at heidiwatermancoaching at gmail dot com) or by using the contact form. I’m happy to help.

I would love to hear from you…
